Privacy Policy for KeepSweep: Chat Media Cleaner
1. About KeepSweep
KeepSweep is an Android utility that helps you review and clean media and documents stored in folders that you authorize on your device. Its functions include scanning, classification, previews, cleanup suggestions, protection or exclusion choices, optional cleanup history, sharing, and user-confirmed deletion.
KeepSweep is independently developed by IQ-Soft. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is referenced only to describe folders and media that users may choose to manage.
2. Folder access and information processed
KeepSweep uses Android's system folder picker, also known as the Storage Access Framework. You choose whether to grant access to a WhatsApp Media or WhatsApp Business Media folder. Android displays the folder and asks you to confirm the access grant.
Within an authorized folder, KeepSweep may process the following information locally:
- file names and document identifiers;
- file types and media categories;
- file sizes and modification dates;
- media metadata needed for classification and display;
- thumbnails and previews;
- protection, exclusion, and cleanup-history choices; and
- the files that you explicitly select for sharing or deletion.
KeepSweep does not request Android's broad all-files access permission. It operates within folders that you explicitly authorize.
3. How information is used
Authorized information is used locally to:
- scan and classify media and documents;
- display previews and cleanup opportunities;
- organize files by type, size, and date;
- remember items you protect, exclude, or hide from suggestions;
- maintain optional local cleanup history;
- run user-enabled scheduled Smart Scans;
- show optional local scan notifications;
- share files that you explicitly choose; and
- delete only files that you explicitly select and confirm.
Scheduled Smart Scans may discover and classify files in the background. They do not automatically select or delete files.
4. Data collection, transmission, sharing, and sale
The current KeepSweep release does not transmit personal data, files, media, file metadata, usage activity, identifiers, settings, diagnostics, or scan results to IQ-Soft.
The current release contains:
- no advertising SDK;
- no analytics or tracking SDK;
- no remote crash-reporting service;
- no user account or login system;
- no cloud storage service;
- no payment or billing SDK; and
- no Internet permission.
IQ-Soft therefore does not collect, sell, rent, or share data generated through the current KeepSweep app.
5. Sharing files with another app
When you deliberately use KeepSweep's Share function, Android displays compatible apps and services. The file or files are sent only to the recipient that you select.
KeepSweep grants temporary read access only for the selected content. The selected recipient's own privacy policy and data-handling practices apply after you share the content. KeepSweep does not select the recipient for you.
6. Information stored on your device
KeepSweep may store the following information in its private local app storage:
- application settings;
- authorized folder references;
- protection and exclusion choices;
- optional cleanup history;
- scheduled-scan preferences and state; and
- local scheduled-scan summaries.
This information remains on the device and is not transmitted to IQ-Soft. Android backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for KeepSweep.
7. Retention and deletion
Locally stored settings and records remain on the device while KeepSweep is installed, unless you clear or change them through available app controls.
- Current scan results and cleanup history can be cleared in Settings.
- Protected or excluded-file choices can be reviewed and reversed.
- Removing a folder authorization prevents future access to that folder.
- Uninstalling KeepSweep removes its private application data.
Because KeepSweep does not create a remote account and IQ-Soft does not receive app data, there is no server-side user account or cloud data to request for deletion.
8. Permissions and Android capabilities
Folder access
Used only for folders that you authorize through Android's system folder picker. This access supports scanning, previews, sharing, and user-confirmed deletion.
Notifications
Notification permission is optional and is used only for user-enabled Smart Scan alerts. KeepSweep remains usable if notification permission is declined.
Background and restart support
Android background-work and device-restart capabilities may be used to maintain Smart Scan schedules that you enable. These scans remain local and do not automatically delete files.
Network-state observation
Android's scheduling library may include network-state observation capability. This does not allow KeepSweep to send information because the app does not have Android's Internet permission.
9. Security
KeepSweep uses Android's application sandbox, limited folder grants, temporary read-only sharing grants, authorization checks before deletion, disabled application backup, and disabled cleartext network traffic.
No application or security measure can guarantee absolute protection, particularly on a rooted, compromised, or otherwise insecure device.
10. Children
KeepSweep is a general-purpose device utility and is not specifically designed for children. The app does not knowingly collect or transmit personal information from children or adults.
11. External platforms and services
Google Play, Android, your device manufacturer, and apps that you voluntarily select for sharing operate under their own terms and privacy policies. This policy covers the data handling of KeepSweep by IQ-Soft.
12. Changes to this policy
IQ-Soft may update this policy when KeepSweep's functionality, permissions, software components, or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
Any future release that introduces Internet transmission, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, accounts, cloud services, or billing will require an appropriate update to this policy and to the application's Google Play Data safety declaration before release.
